Under Stars 03:35
the sun is shining now we can dry our sleeping bags I drank your coffee and only get one free refill on the streets the family's bigger he's your brother she's your sister love them all did your mother like me or did she fight you is the letter coming that says you love me did you tell them girls about me, the ins and outsies under stars I'm dreaming of your ceiling fix things that are broken sew up holes and think of you the spirit moves the wind blows whatever I feel you what we had what we have what we will have well we will have to try again it's not what we had it's what we have and what we will have maybe doesn't matter did your mother like me or did she fight you is the letter coming that says you love me did you tell them girls about me, the ins and outsies under stars I'm dreaming of your ceiling

Blue 05:16
let me tell you something about me I really loved you though I don't care too much for this life, having you was nice but you left my heart with holes, more than some the parts I gave to you are gone we're not going to start it up again and I can't stop crying and though it's not the same way I still think of you all day the hopeful flame flickers though it drives me mad wanting something I can't have daydream of the old you and I where does all this space come from going through the motions, I'm numb and I've lost my drive lady you helped me through hard times but you left me even worse off when you died with lessons learned in less than due time not to hate this life

Now the fire’s all around I can’t run, I am choking on the smoke But when the game is done son What will be left to fight over now Except for pretty faces, pretty eyes Gardens left to grow toward the sun I recall you telling me I was in for the ride of my life Holding shit down Holding this down Music, music, sweet music Take me with you on your trips To and from that very first song That taught us how to sing out loud Coat me in those glittering notes Till it covers who I am Music, sweet music soothe me Till I just don’t give a damn about Figuring shit out Or burning shit down Burning the world out of my way with my eyes Burning layers back to reveal what’s in their minds Hard to believe it’s always been you and I Different ages, different lives Should I give up Turning shit ‘round The sun comes up, the day begins A headache’s creeping in But you can’t imagine my surprise As the sky starts falling Before I realize I can’t breathe The stars are getting big And there’s no getting out of their way As they crush the cities Burning the world out of my way with my eyes Burning layers back to reveal what’s in their minds Hard to believe it’s always been you and I Different ages, different lives

Glitter 04:11
Don’t speak too loud Or we’ll lose our little cloud And fall to earth Don’t think too much Or we’ll run the risk of Dissipating Pile on your worst And it rolls off of me But hide your star And I’m lost at sea Till you sing the verses That will guide me home Don’t make me gasp When I catch you looking around At other worlds And don’t trade me in For the world of glitter If you ever get the chance Pile on your worst And it rolls off of me But hide your star And I’m lost at sea Till you sing the verses That will guide me home A thousand miles away I feel you breathe Those haunting melodies Have warned me even Turn my back on them And they’ll haunt me home They’re in you Power and light They give you The crown of life They love you

Can I turn this love off, let it die Stop sending signals deflecting, stop crying Letters… are you listening What I’m feeling written for you I have been in this town a year and four months now Loneliest waking dream The sweetest love now out of reach All I’ve found (And in a white night light it all comes out) Absorbed into the current firmament it ends But with honor the same voice has said The idea you had in your head of atonement (In a white night light might mark these days) Struggling to hold a memory Tightly in my hand As a sea of change is rising The wind is whispering to move on And that you are gone (And a white night light won’t bring you back)

Mortal Coils 05:43
When someone cries out loud And no one’s there to hear it Does it make a sound Beyond the pain it left Reaching out her hand Death looked like an angel And the strength to finally touch her Was with you all along There’s a time of night So dark you do not fear it And you look at your ghost What do we do with heaven and hell Fighting for our mortal coils When we want nothing and neither of them The shooting stars that fall to earth And never seem to land where we are We are watching and waiting for them In this world we made with our hands That every boy and girl dreams to escape Most won’t have the time Many are made uneasy Some will simply laugh And one or two will smile When they’re hit by the notes Of their children’s children’s Children’s children’s music Traveling through time Telling them it was fine Though they shooed the wild horses Shot the messengers And made a mess of the place What do they do with heaven and hell Fighting for their mortal coils When they want nothing and neither of them The shooting stars that fall to earth And never seem to land where we are We are watching and waiting for them In this world we made with our hands That every boy and girl dreams to escape

Dreamy 04:14
Land of evergreens It covered everything I found you doing well And looking swell Knew i just had to see you So long had I seen You flourishing I thought of giving into things I’d been thinking For a long time then Now I look at the kids And they don’t know about you Time and a place Just a line on my face But the feeling’s that If all of the doors are Opening outward Is there a good enough mirror To show me why I did leave What I left behind Sat there listening To songs I sang Though not to you There were a few Times I could say I was singing to you You told me all your dreams Some scary things I wish I could’ve slept between You and your boy Now I look at the kids And they don’t know about you Time and a place Just a line on my face But the feeling’s that If all of the doors are Opening outward They’re a good enough mirror To show me why I did leave What I left behind

Make Believe 05:25
Those good days are gone now The memory’s almost a lie And going back’s about as easy As trying to light water on fire Your face is still with me Though the times have faded away Over and over all just one in the same We can meet in a dream At a place we cannot stay For we wake in the morning To all of the glory of day And it is all gone Into a world of make believe With only your breath left To send off your feet What would you say To make them see When they’ve only got a second And they’re turning to leave And I turned my back so long ago I can scarcely recall those days I would’ve said the stars had spoken But clouds got in their way Now those spheres of light that pierce the night Could keep the dream alive But more often not to stand in space I turn from what’s inside I turned the other way Then I woke in the morning To all of the glory of day And it was all gone Into a world of make believe With only your breath left To send off your feet What would you say To make them see That they’ve only got a second And they’re turning to leave

Little Fish 07:04
There’s a little creek near our home Carved out long before they carved this town Snowflakes on the mountains melt and trickle down And though that’s such a lovely place you can still feel so alone So our people settled lower When we can’t relate or we’re so mad we cannot speak It does us good to sit beside the stream And watch the water ripple over these stones Smoothing out the rough edges and moving on To someone further down the line To somewhere else, some other time Not spending too long in one place But touring the country and all the Amber fields and forests green Before making its way back to the sea We all have friends living in different ways Different rivers carving different lands But don’t they all drain into the ocean in the end Don’t we all need this water from the heavens And isn’t all life somewhat wet If love is deep and dreams are little fish Then our dream is this To keep our channel clean and clear To keep the edges crisp To filter our black and grey cloudy adjectives But still be so pure the weary traveler stops and drinks Still being so sure we’ll one day arrive at the sea Reunited with the family
